CYCLE FOR THE SYMPHONY
CELEBRATE THE BEAUTY OF MONTANA AND THE JOY OF MUSIC!
The first ever C4S bike ride—Cycle for the Symphony—will kick
off Saturday, September 18, 2010. Reserve your place now to ride for the inaugural
event: the Flint Creek Ramble, an inspiring journey through the landscape and history
of the American West. We’ll take only the first 250 riders and issue numbers in
the order you register. To win one of the prestigious low numbers, sign up now!
WHY SHOULD C4S BE ON YOUR CYCLING CALENDAR?
The ride: Take your pick of options to start in Philipsburg
(112 miles), Drummond (85 miles), Deer Lodge (50 miles) or Anaconda (25 miles).
Expect spectacular scenery, great camaraderie, excellent food and a friendly crew
that appreciates your hard work to support the Symphony.
The route: Start in picturesque Philipsburg, with its
charming downtown full of restored buildings from the late 1800s. From there you’ll
follow the famous Pintler Scenic Loop along Flint Creek as it flows north through
open meadows and sage-covered hills. At Drummond, continue east along the Clark
Fork River to Deer Lodge, set among ranchlands on the eastern edge of the jagged
Flint Creek Range. Head south to rejoin the Pintler Scenic Route in historic Anaconda,
then ride past snow-capped peaks on the way to the blue waters of Georgetown Lake.
From there, cruise downhill to a triumphant finish in Philipsburg.
The reason: C4S is hosted by the
Missoula Symphony Association and Symphony Guild to raise awareness and funds for
the Symphony. The ride is an outpouring of support and appreciation for our talented
orchestra members, conductors, chorale and staff. C4S also validates
our mission to support the arts in western Montana. To encourage riders to raise
as much as possible to support the Symphony, top fundraisers will receive distinctive
C4S
jerseys PLUS early registration for the 2nd Annual C4S.
The rewards: C4S treats riders
like royalty. We’ll provide a full hot breakfast, sack lunch, energy stop, rider
and bicycle service and support, first aid and a friendly staff. The Finish Line
Party includes live music, hot BBQ and cold brews and beverages. Plus every rider
receives a T-shirt, store coupons and goodie bag to remember their
C4S
ride.
